Southern Blizzard

from A$92.00

Drifting snow after a blizzard at Hartz Mountain. I had been wanting to capture a snowy sunrise from the peak but the challenge was far more difficult than I had imagined! This was one of my first attempts during the winter of 2016 and definitely one of the coldest. Westerly winds gusted upwards of 80km/h according to a weather station situated nearby. The windchill would have been around -15c or -20. After bashing through snow loaded brush for around 2 hours the sun rose and I was no where near the peak. But luckily the inetnse blizzard made for an otherwise dramatic photo as it whipped snow across the plateau below Hartz Mountain.
